A pair of Antique Chinese 19th century Qing Dynasty Silver Inlaid Buffalo
A pair of antique Chinese late 19th century Qing Dynasty pair of finely hand carved and silver inlaid rosewood sculptures, each carved with a young woman and the infant seated on the back of a water buffalo, inlaid with ornately twisted silver wire, on its integral elaborately carved base.
CONDITION: The sculptures are in good condition overall, except for minor damages such as a small chip on the corner of the base of one figure, some slight losses to the silver wire inlay, and minor age cracks that are typical in older wood. The surface of the wood is covered in an old, dark varnish that has crumbled with age. White marks from old paper labels remain on the base.
MEASUREMENTS: "These are hand-carved sculptures, which means they may not be perfectly even due to their individual nature."
Height: 25 cm (9.84 inches).
Overall length: 23 cm (9.06 inches).
Total weight of the 2 figurines. 3.280 kg.
