Antique 17th Nürnberg Zinn Pewter Relief Plate Emperor Ferdinand II Habsburg
Antique, 17th century, circa 1630, German Nürnberg - Nuremberg pewter relief plate, “Kaiserteller” of Ferdinand II (9 July 1578 – 15 February 1637).Cast in the center with medallion depicting the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II Habsburg on horseback with a legend: FERDINAND: II.DG.RO: IM: S: A: At the rim are eleven numbered oval cartouches bordered by mannerist strap work and interspersed with grotesque masks, each containing a mounted equestrian figure of the eleven emperors from the house of Habsburg, with their names as follows.

On the reverse are visible turning marks.
Diameter: 18.5 cm (7 1/4 in).
Weight: 387 g (13 5/8 oz.).
CONDITION: The plate shows usage and age patina, some imperfections on the back of the rim; however they are not visible on the front of the plate, there is a small hole at the junction horse's mane and at the emperors left arm. Please see the close up pictures.
The material is pewter and is very soft so the plate is in very good condition considering that it is an approximate 380 years old pewter plate.
