Antique 18th - 19th century Algeria Morocco Islamic Moroccan Gun Powder Flask
A very good quality, antique late 18th - early 19th century, North African – Maghreb, Algeria – Morocco Islamic Arab gun powder flask with wooden, bag-shaped, convex body, encased entirely in leather with untouched, lightly oxidized, brown-colored surfaces, with two iron rings for suspension, and attached leather straps, fitted with a nicely carved camel bone pouring-spout and bone nozzle including its original wood plug stopper.
CONDITION: In very good untouched condition, showing the age and usage.
MEASUREMENTS: Overall length 28.5 cm (11 1/4 in). Width: 14 cm (5 1/2 in).
A nice, good quality example of a classical Maghribi Powder Flask, of the type often associated with Kabyle Rifles.
