Antique 18th Century Blue and White Delft Faience Pewter Mounted Jug
Antique blue and white jug, 18th-century, made in Europe. It is made of blue and white Delft faience and has pewter mounts. The jug has a globular body with a cylindrical neck, a spreading foot, a pinched lip, and a strap handle. The cobalt blue paint is decorated with intricate scrollwork, swags, and foliate motifs.
The jug has a strap handle that connects the body to the neck. It features a pinched, domed, hinged pewter lid with a detailed thumb-piece finial. The base of the jug is marked with a hand-painted maker’s mark MD.MEASUREMENTS:
