Antique Capodimonte Cozzi Figural Group Putti with Sheep White Porcelain
Antique 19th-century Italian white porcelain figural group Capodimonte Cozzi (Blanc de Chine).
The hand-sculptured figurine portrays two Putti in a typical rococo style, adorned with wreaths of flowers. One of the Putti is seated on the back of a sheep, while the other is playing with the sheep, and a small lamb is shown nursing milk from its mother sheep.
The figurines are placed on a base decorated with a rococo-style design and decorated with flowers.
The base has a hand-painted cobalt blue Capodimonte mark with a crown "N" on the underside. Unlike most molded porcelain figurines, each figure and base in this group is hand-carved and assembled individually.MEASUREMENTS: Height, approximately: 21 cm (8.27 inches).
CONDITION: It shows its age and use. There is a hairline crack on the right leg of the sitting putti and the front leg of the sheep, and small chips on the flowers. No repairs or restoration.
