Antique Islamic 14th -16th Century Persian Celadon Ceramic Tile
Antique Islamic, 14th to 16th century, Persian eight-sided celadon ceramic tile shaped like two joined pentagons (bowtie shape), molded in relief with an Arabic Quranic inscription, and covered with a translucent green glaze.
The piece is presented in a custom-made solid sterling silver frame, which enhances its magnificence even further.
The previous owner valued this tile so highly that in the latter half of the 20th century, he commissioned a top jeweler in Toronto to create a solid silver frame for it.
CONDITION: It is in good condition. There is minor wear to the glaze, which is consistent with age and use.
