Antique Medieval 14th century A.D. Mamluk Islamic Pottery Bowl
Antique 14th century A.D. medieval (700 AH – 803 AH) Mamluk Islamic Fritware pottery bowl from the Middle East.
The object has a squat, bulbous shape and sits on a short foot with a wide mouth featuring a slightly flared rim. The pronounced, rounded shoulder is decorated in blue and black, showcasing a bold band embellished with an arabesque pattern and stylized Arabic thuluth calligraphy against an off-white background.
The center of the interior is painted green and black with an eight-lobed roseate filled with two interlocking four-petaled florets.

CONDITION: Expertly repaired clean breaks, with minor losses along the repair lines, are consistent with the age of this bowl, which is over 600 years old.
The exterior and interior have a beautiful iridescence/pearlescence.
