Canadian Northwest Coast Haida Indian Drum by Clarence A. Wells
The hand drum created by Clarence A. Wells (–1950) features a design in the graphic Haida style, depicting a pair of hawks. Titled "Fish Hawk," it includes a signature along the edge. The red, black, and white coloring of the eagles provides a striking contrast to the natural color of the drum's surface.
Clarence A. Wells is a Northwest Coast Native artist from the Gitsen Clan of the Tsimshian First Nation in Canada. He specializes in the Northern artistic styles of Haida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian cultures.
