Indo Persian Central Asian (Turkish?) Miniature Painting Young Man Drinking Tea
This is a finely hand-painted Indo-Persian Central Asian miniature painting depicting a sitting, turbaned young man holding a drinking cup. The painting is a gold and gouache masterpiece on paper, signed "Ashina" in Arabic script. The inner border is decorated with a gold lattice motif, while the outer borders feature foliate motifs. The name "Ashina" comes from one of the old Turkish tribes of central Asia and means "blue" or "gök" in Turkic. It is also possible that the name derives from a Turkic noble wolf tribe related to Ashina. The painting was possibly created in the 20th century.
