SOLD Antique 18th century large Turkish Ottoman Islamic dagger Khanjar - Jambiya with tapering double-edged sturdy steel blade with medial ridge mounted in a characteristic one-piece grip. With its original solid silver scabbard with wooden insert encased and applied with openwork panels of scrolling tendrils the scabbard throat adorned with bands of braided silver wire and beads, and fitted one side with a small loop for attachment of a cord or decorative tassel.

CONDITION: The silver scabbard is damaged with signs of old soldering; the hilt has cracks from age (as common in these daggers) but still hold very solid. Blade is with some wear and pitting overall. These are signs of age and usage, that can be expected from an over 200-year-old combat dagger.
