SOLD Antique 19th century German sword in neoclassic manner with cast brass single – bar hilt with downcurving quillon terminating in a bud, the knuckle –guard and pair of langets cast with classical masks. Pommel in the form of head of lion wearing a classical helmet, retaining its original leather bound wooden grip. Long Straight pipe backed quill pointed single edged steel blade stamped on the ricasso Made in Germany in its steel scabbard with brass frog stud.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length with the scabbard: 110.8 cm (43 5/8 inches), length without the scabbard: 99 cm (39 inches).

CONDITION: Showing its age and usage. The leather covered grip is worn in several areas. The nickel-plating on the scabbard is slightly flaking.
